  • Insurance Company Testimonials:
According to The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), "Young drivers tend to be immature and impulsive, overestimating their own physical and driving abilities and underestimating dangers in the driving environment. Every novice needs time to develop driving skills and the judgment to counteract their lack of on-the-road experience in low-risk settings." The National Motorists Association, an advocacy group for North American motorists, encourages the use of driving simulation devices to teach new drivers skill techniques that would otherwise be too dangerous to employ in actual vehicles on public roads.

The American Automobile Association’s Foundation for Traffic Safety believes that computerized driving simulation is the ideal medium for replacing traditional driver’s education resources. In an exhaustive research project on the subject, the organization found that a computer-based, interactive, high-resolution graphic system would be the best method of training novice drivers. Through interactive computers, "including even difficult evaluation and decision tasks, the student will gain expertise without increasing the expensive one-on-one in-car training. Key sub components can be mastered alone first, then in increasingly complex configurations." Additional benefits of simulator practice are extensive. Students learn at an individual pace and the course work can be customized according to performance, allowing mastery of components before attempting tasks in a real-life setting.

    The Kauffman's Experience
"We first learned about DrivingMBA through a mailer to our home. Scott had taken a number of hours of driver training but the lessons were in the rural areas not city driving. He needed to develop skills and experience in a number of areas including anticipating, seeing all signs, smoother turns, avoiding collisions. The area is so congested that it is hard to take all the information in.

"The simulator made a difference after his first session. It raised his awareness of what can happen if you travel too close or what to do if your tire blows out. He crashed a few times and the noise and cracked windshield on the simulator made an impression. He could redo the maneuver until he learned how to handle it. He now comments when he observes someone following too closely to another car or passes in an unsafe manner. One day we had an unusual number of surprises at unexpected times, a bike crossing in front in the dark, a cat shooting across the road and a car cutting us off all of which he handled like a pro. He said it reminded him of being on the simulator.

"The driving experience, practice of skills and ability to experience the responsiveness of different types of cars on the simulator markedly improved his abilities and made him more of a thinking driver. The course was certainly less expensive than a collision. We were very pleased and will enroll our 16 year old daughter as well."

A Mother and Daughter Share Their DrivingMBA Experience
Nervous and panicked is how Anne felt every time her teenage daughter Maddie started up the engine. After hearing about DrivingMBA, Anne enrolled Maddie in the program to put her mind at ease. Read on to see what this mother and daughter team had to say about DrivingMBA's curriculum and the impact it has had on Maddie's driving.

An Interview with Anne, the mother

    1. How did you find out about DrivingMBA?
"My daughter's best friend and advertising about all the new businesses in Horseman's Park."

    2. How has it affected Maddie's driving?
"Before she started DrivingMBA she had driven quite a lot with me. Every time we got home I would have a stomach ache from just being nervous about her driving habits and how she didn't seem to listen to me. She was very confident about her driving and just like most teenagers she considered herself infallible. After taking her first session at DrivingMBA she didn't even want to drive. It took her 3 days to process everything she had learned. When she got back in the car again her whole driving style had changed. I could finally see her become much more attentive and aware of all the other drivers around her. I immediately felt at ease with her driving and for the first time I was more confident than her."

    3. What has Maddie learned by taking the classes at DrivingMBA?
"I think the biggest thing she learned was that traffic patterns can change in a split second. Even in the time it takes to switch the radio station."

    4. Do you think more parents should take notice of DrivingMBA's curriculum? Why or why not?
"Yes. Driving in the simulator gave her the ability to safely experience all kinds of different driving conditions, in different types of vehicles, and at different speeds, which she would never have experienced otherwise. Along with an instructor, they can throw all kinds of different scenarios at her to make her think and pay attention. This was a very invaluable lesson for my daughter."

An Interview with Maddie, the teen driver

    1. What did you like about DrivingMBA?
"I liked DrivingMBA because it made it fun to learn how to drive and you get to experience driving in all different situations."

    2. Is there anything you'd like to see changed about the program?
"No. DrivingMBA is a great program and I think everyone should learn to drive there."

    3. How has the training helped you in reacting to situations you encounter on the road?
"Working on the simulators helped me experience real life situations which made me more conscious of the way I was driving. Now I look ahead and my reaction speed is really fast."

    4. Would you recommend DrivingMBA's program to other teen drivers? Why?
"Definitely. I think that if every teen driver used Driving MBA's program to learn how to drive, they would become better drivers which would cut down on accidents and make the road a safer place."

    The Benson's Experience
"I first learned about DrivingMBA when I received a postcard in the mail. I was skeptical at first since my daughter Jennifer had already been through an on-road driver training program, but decided to enroll her. She completed the Level 2 Defensive Driving Course over a year ago and has already put into effect what she learned.

"Jennifer was recently driving on the freeway when she experienced a tire blowout. She quickly remembered what she learned through DrivingMBA and was able to control the vehicle and maneuver it onto the shoulder of the road. She called us immediately after and we could tell she was nervous and upset. When we arrived with her younger sister, Jennifer said to her, "Julianne, you have got to go through DrivingMBA. If it weren't for the program, I wouldn't have known what to do in this situation." A year later, we enrolled Julianne in the program and she has recently completed Level 2.

"If you're a parent with a teen driver, I absolutely recommend that you enroll your child in the program. I'll admit that the program isn't cheap, but my daughters' lives are well worth it. The program shows your teen things they would never encounter with you or an on-road school teaching them how to drive. They can experience, first-hand, potential driving situations and are more aware of how to react when these situations come to life.

"While our son is only in 5th grade, we plan on enrolling him too when he becomes of age to drive. It's just the right thing to do when you're talking about your child's life."

    -Jana Benson, Phoenix

    Meagan, A student of DrivingMBA
    An Interview with Meagan:

    Q: What was most helpful:
A: The reinforcement in the driving program, first lessons, then the tests, then the risky situations.

Q: What improvements would you suggest:
A: I would offer five 2-hour sessions - I'd like to come back for more!

Q: Quote for the day: If someone asked you about the DrivingMBA Program (a friend or parent) what would you say? Be honest!!!
A:The DrivingMBA program is a perfect mixture of practice, application and fun.

    Chris and Jessica
Jessica was in a near driving disaster last weekend due to not paying close attention. She had to be at a Marching Band event at 5:45am (a prime example of why teens shouldn t be driving before 6:00am our bad) and didn t catch a car in her blind spot as she tried to change lanes.

But in her correction, she used the quick response correction method learned by you and didn t end up in the median or flipped over! No accident happened, just a good scare. It ended up being her Drum line director (how embarrassing), but no one was hurt, just her pride. He let her have it at first when getting out of the car, then realized his response was inappropriate and corrected himself by showing care and concern for her safety.

Jessica said if she hadn t known the proper way to quickly respond in the situation, she would have been in an accident for sure! She was grateful at that point of reference to have learned the methods you taught her. Thanks you guys!

    Nancee Connelly
I first learned about DrivingMBA through the Scottsdale Education Center down the street and decided to enroll my daughter, Alexandra. She just completed the program last week and has been driving WONDERFULLY. I feel comfortable in the car with her, but most importantly, feel safe with her on the road. She LOVED the program and was actually excited to go.

The simulators reminded Alexandra of the main operations of a car since it feels like you're in a real car.

I would highly recommend DrivingMBA. It makes the process of driving easier for both the parent and the student. DrivingMBA is worth every cent!

    Trudy Thompson Rice
After her son Jonathan finished up DrivingMBA's comprehensive program in January, his mother Trudy had nothing but positive things to say about his driver training experience. Scroll below to read Trudy's testimonial.

Q: How did you first hear about DrivingMBA?
A: I first heard about DrivingMBA through a search online and signed Jonathan up at the Scottsdale location for the comprehensive driver training program.

Q: How has DrivingMBA made an impact on Jonathan's driving?
A: He recently completed the program in January. He is a careful driver and always anticipates the unexpected. The simulators made him aware that there is never a routine drive - something unexpected and dangerous can occur at any moment. He really liked the instructors and the simulators.

Q: Some parents feel that just on-road driver training is sufficient enough for their teen. Do you feel that Jonathan has gained better driver training experience utilizing the simulators? Why or why not?
A: Absolutely! The simulators were helpful. They showed him in a low-stakes way. For example, his life was not at stake if he made a mistake. When he aced a simulator training session, the instructor could increase its complexity to keep him challenged.

Q: Would you recommend DrivingMBA's curriculum to other parents/teens? Why or why not?
A: Yes, and we have recommended it. Driving is a skill that we take for granted. But for our kids, it involves motor skills, hand-eye coordination, judgment, emotional maturity, and social situations. The stakes for them and their families are incredibly, incredibly high. We wanted him to learn to do it right with every advantage possible.

Q: How actively involved were you in Jonathan's driver training?
A: We were very involved. He drove with both mom and dad from the start, as we were asked to do by DrivingMBA.

Q: Do you feel that DrivingMBA's program is fairly priced?
A: We thought it was well-priced, but have heard other parents complain that it is too expensive for their budgets. We feel it is something that it is important enough that it will be a budget priority. There is no doubt this is the right decision.

Q: Did you attend either a Straight Talk - What Parents Need to Know about Teen Driving or the parent class while Jonathan was enrolled? If so, what did you think about the presentation?
A: The presentation was solid and reality-based. It is obvious to us that every staff member at DrivingMBA is committed to one thing only: helping our kids be safe drivers.
